There are many posts regarding Candles, written by different people with different meaning and understanding as well. My post is not cast in stone, but just guidelines that have worked for me before.

CANDLE COLOUR MEANING 

White: For Devine and Good spirits 

Blue: For open communication, self-expression, intergrity & water spirits 

Yellow: For Personal power and personal insticts

Green: For green economy, Social identity and Prosperity 

Pink: For kid's spirit guides (manono), pure love.

Red: For protection, fighting bad evil

Orange: For Emotional identity, creativity, wisdom 

Purple: Self-reflection, Intuition and clarity of sight

Maroon: For those who passed on in tragedies 

Silver: For attracting strong spiritual connections 

Grey: For weak and Poor spirits 

Brown: tired spirits 

Gold: For Wealth and prosperity 

Black: For powerful spiritual awakening (should be used under guidance)

To "light a candle for someone" indicates one's intention to say a prayer for another person, and thecandle symbolizes that prayer.

Candles are worth more than the wick and wax they are made out of.
