Ochre (Letsoku)

A re lotšheng,  Ndauwe bana ba koko!

Did you know that some of the elements that you use as healers are only for us, can be used by you too at the comfort of your on home.
Call it #Letsoku, #Imbola, #Imbovu, #Luvhundi, #Tsumani, amongst other things.

The nature of #letsoku and related clayey soils, traditionally used by indigenous Southern African communities for a wide range of purposes, was explored. Thirty nine samples were collected from Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The #letsoku  samples covered a wide range of colors ranging from bright red to yellow but also from off-white to black with some having a light grey color. It was therefore not surprising that the mineral composition of the #letsoku samples also varied widely.

Benefits of using it on your skin:
• Dries out blackheads and gently removes them
• Highly recommended for sensitive skin
• Tightens pores
• Reduces signs of aging
• Reduces dryness by not stripping off the skin’s natural oils
• Improves skin tone
• Inexpensive sunscreen to protect one's face and arms from the harsh sun
• If you have acne, #letsoku will help you regulate excess fat, and it also promotes the healing process of acne scars
• Promotes cell regeneration

To make this clay, mix equal parts of the powdered form with filtered water or rose water until it forms a paste. You can also use apple cider vinegar instead of water for an intense purifying mask. Let it dry for 20 minutes, less for dry skin. Rinse with warm water.

Add-ins for inflamed or aggravated skin: rosemary, chamomile, lavender, or lemongrass oil.

Try it and see your skin improves!
